The Scapia Credit Card is a travel-focused credit card built around Scapia Coins, airport benefits, zero forex markup and app-based travel bookings. The card currently comes through multiple partner-bank variants, so the exact card network, eligibility rules and some charges can differ depending on the issuer.

The headline benefits are straightforward: zero joining fee, zero annual fee, zero forex markup, rewards on eligible spending, higher rewards on eligible travel bookings through the Scapia app, domestic airport benefits and a RuPay option for eligible UPI payments.

Quick Answer

The Scapia Credit Card is a lifetime-free travel-focused card with zero joining and annual fees, zero forex markup and rewards issued as Scapia Coins. Eligible everyday spending can earn 10% Scapia rewards on the applicable Visa or Mastercard variant, eligible RuPay spending can earn 5%, and eligible travel bookings made through the Scapia app can earn 20% in Scapia rewards.

The important detail is that these percentages refer to reward earning in Scapia Coins, not direct cash-back at the same percentage. At the current published conversion of 5 Scapia Coins = ₹1, the effective value works out to about 2% for a 10% headline reward, 1% for a 5% headline reward and 4% for a 20% travel reward.

Domestic airport lounge access is spend-linked. A ₹20,000 monthly spending condition applies to unlock the eligible domestic airport benefit. Scapia also provides an international airport privilege of up to ₹2,000 on eligible international flight bookings of ₹50,000 or more made through the Scapia app.

What Is the Scapia Credit Card?

The Scapia Credit Card is a co-branded travel credit card built around the Scapia app and its travel ecosystem. Instead of traditional cashback, the card uses Scapia Coins as its reward currency, which can be used within the Scapia platform for eligible travel and other services.

Scapia is not limited to one bank or one card network. Current public product pages show Scapia variants associated with Federal Bank, BOBCARD and Axis Bank. Network availability also differs by variant: Federal Bank and BOBCARD currently offer Visa and RuPay options, while the Axis variant includes Mastercard and RuPay options.

Current Scapia issuer and network variants

IssuerNetwork options shown publiclyImportant point
Federal BankVisa + RuPayFederal publishes its own eligibility and fee terms
BOBCARDVisa + RuPayBOBCARD publishes separate card terms and eligibility
Axis BankMastercard + RuPayAxis has its own eligibility and finance-charge structure

This distinction matters when you compare eligibility, interest charges, minimum payments or individual card conditions. The common Scapia benefits are similar, but the issuer’s terms should be checked for the specific variant offered to you.

Scapia Credit Card Benefits

Zero joining and annual fees

The Scapia Credit Card currently carries zero joining fee and zero annual membership fee. That makes the headline cost of keeping the card straightforward, but it does not mean every card service or transaction is free.

Cash withdrawals, late payments, replacement requests, overlimit usage, EMI-related services and certain transaction categories can still attract charges.

For a detailed fee breakdown, see our Scapia Credit Card fees and charges guide.

Scapia travel rewards

Eligible travel bookings made through the Scapia app can earn a higher reward rate than regular spending. Depending on the applicable offer and transaction eligibility, travel bookings can earn 20% in Scapia rewards.

Eligible bookings can include services such as flights, hotels, trains, buses, visas and other travel products available through the Scapia ecosystem.

Zero forex markup

Scapia offers 0% forex markup on eligible international transactions. This can reduce the separate foreign-currency markup that many credit cards add when a purchase is processed in another currency.

Zero forex markup should not be confused with free international cash withdrawals or a guarantee that the card’s exchange rate will exactly match the mid-market rate.

Domestic airport benefits

Scapia provides domestic airport benefits including lounge access after the applicable spending condition is met. The current threshold is ₹20,000 of qualifying monthly spend.

The airport benefit can also include value-back opportunities of up to ₹1,000 at eligible domestic airports, subject to the applicable conditions.

Read our Scapia Credit Card lounge access guide for the detailed rules.

International airport benefit

Scapia has also introduced an international-airport benefit that is separate from domestic lounge access. An eligible international flight booking of ₹50,000 or more through the Scapia app can unlock up to ₹2,000 back in Scapia rewards for eligible spending at international terminals in India.

This should not be described as international airport lounge access. It is a separate airport-spending benefit with its own booking requirement.

RuPay UPI access

The RuPay version of the Scapia Credit Card can be linked to supported UPI applications for eligible merchant payments. Eligible RuPay transactions can earn 5% Scapia rewards, subject to the applicable minimum transaction value and exclusions.

For the full process, see our Scapia Credit Card UPI guide.

Digital card management

The Scapia ecosystem is designed around app-based card management. Cardholders can view their account, monitor transactions, manage certain card controls, access rewards and make payments digitally.

Scapia Credit Card Rewards

How Scapia Coins work

Scapia rewards are delivered as Scapia Coins. The current published value is 5 Scapia Coins = ₹1 when redeemed through the applicable Scapia ecosystem.

That means the headline reward percentage should not be interpreted as direct cashback.

Scapia Credit Card reward rates and Scapia Coin value explained

Scapia reward rates and actual value

Spending typeHeadline rewardExample on ₹10,000 eligible spendApprox. value at 5 Coins = ₹1
Eligible Visa/Mastercard spending10%1,000 Scapia Coins₹200
Eligible RuPay/UPI spending5%500 Scapia Coins₹100
Eligible travel booking through Scapia20%2,000 Scapia Coins₹400

This is the most important distinction when evaluating the card. A 10% Scapia reward does not mean ₹1,000 of cashback on ₹10,000 spending. At the current 5-to-₹1 conversion, it represents ₹200 of redemption value.

Likewise, a 20% travel reward represents approximately 4% of the booking value when redeemed at the current coin value.

You can read the full breakdown in our Scapia Credit Card rewards guide.

Which transactions may not earn rewards?

Reward eligibility depends on the transaction category and the issuer’s applicable terms. Common exclusions can include:

  • Cash withdrawals
  • EMI transactions
  • Fuel and fuel surcharges
  • Rent payments
  • Wallet loading or similar cash-equivalent transactions
  • Education and school-fee payments
  • Government or certain business-related payments
  • Insurance and specified utility transactions under applicable terms
  • Credit-card repayments
  • Crypto or digital-asset transactions

The exact exclusion list is issuer- and transaction-rule specific. Do not calculate expected rewards by applying the headline percentage to every payment on your statement.

Scapia Credit Card Fees & Charges

The most visible fees are simple: joining fee ₹0 and annual fee ₹0. Other charges are where the issuer variant becomes important.

Main fees to know

ChargeCurrent position
Joining fee₹0
Annual fee₹0
Forex markup0% on eligible international transactions
ATM/cash advance fee2.5% of the withdrawn amount or ₹500, whichever is higher, under the current published issuer terms
Replacement/reissue₹200 + applicable GST on current Federal Bank and BOBCARD terms
Overlimit fee2.5% of the overlimit amount, subject to the applicable minimum
Interest/finance chargesIssuer-specific; check the KFS/MITC for the exact variant

Why fees can differ by issuer

Scapia’s zero-fee positioning is consistent across its major public partner-bank offerings, but the complete fee schedule is not identical. For example, Federal Bank and BOBCARD publish 45% per annum revolving interest, while the current Axis Scapia page displays a different finance-charge figure.

For that reason, the safest approach is to check the issuer name, Key Fact Statement and Most Important Terms and Conditions attached to the application you are actually submitting.

Scapia Credit Card Eligibility

There is no single age rule that should be treated as universal for every Scapia variant.

Eligibility can vary by issuer

IssuerPublished age criteriaOther basic conditions
Federal Bank21–65 for salaried applicants; 25–65 for self-employed applicantsResident Indian; additional bank criteria apply
BOBCARD25–60 yearsIndian resident; salaried or self-employed
Axis Bank18–70 yearsResident of India; card-specific documentation and assessment apply

These differences are why statements such as “Scapia eligibility is exactly 25–60” should not be treated as a universal rule for every partner-bank variant.

For a more detailed document checklist, see our Scapia Credit Card eligibility guide.

Documents and verification

The digital application can require information such as PAN, address details and income information. Depending on the issuer and verification route, Aadhaar-linked details, salary slips, income-tax records or other supporting documentation may be requested.

Keep your basic identity and income information accurate and consistent with your financial records.

Does eligibility guarantee approval?

No. Meeting the published basic criteria does not guarantee approval. The issuing bank can conduct its own underwriting, verification and credit assessment before approving the application.

Scapia Credit Card Lounge Access

Scapia Credit Card lounge access and airport benefits
Scapia Credit Card lounge access and airport benefits

₹20,000 spend condition

Scapia domestic lounge access is spend-linked rather than automatic. The current program uses a ₹20,000 monthly spending condition to unlock the eligible domestic airport benefit.

This matters when planning a trip. Simply holding the card is not enough to assume that every lounge visit will be complimentary.

Domestic airport privileges

Once the applicable spending condition is met, eligible cardholders can access participating domestic lounges. Scapia also provides airport value-back benefits of up to ₹1,000 under the applicable airport program.

Lounge access remains subject to the participating lounge network, airport or terminal, validation rules and the terms in force when you travel.

International airport benefit

International terminal benefits are separate from domestic lounge access. Eligible international flight bookings of ₹50,000 or more through the Scapia app can unlock up to ₹2,000 in Scapia rewards for eligible spending at international terminals in India.

It is therefore useful to think of Scapia’s airport proposition as three separate elements: domestic lounge access, domestic airport privileges and the international-terminal benefit.

Scapia Credit Card Forex / International Usage

Scapia Credit Card zero forex markup for international spending
Scapia Credit Card zero forex markup for international spending

How 0% forex markup works

A forex markup is an additional charge a credit-card issuer can add when a transaction is processed in a foreign currency. Scapia’s headline forex feature is 0% markup on eligible international transactions.

For example, if you make an eligible foreign-currency purchase that converts to ₹1,00,000, the card does not add a separate 3% forex markup on top of that amount.

Zero forex does not mean every international transaction is free

The 0% figure only addresses forex markup. Other costs can still apply, including exchange-rate differences, taxes, cash-withdrawal charges or charges imposed by another service provider.

Zero forex markup and reward eligibility are also separate. International or forex transactions can be excluded from rewards under the applicable issuer’s reward terms.

For practical international-use guidance, see our Scapia Credit Card forex guide.

International ATM withdrawals

Using the card at an international ATM is not the same as making a normal international purchase. Cash advances can attract a cash-withdrawal fee and interest from the withdrawal date, even when the card has zero forex markup.

The current published cash-advance structure uses a fee of 2.5% of the amount withdrawn or ₹500, whichever is higher, plus applicable taxes.

Scapia Credit Card UPI

Scapia Credit Card RuPay UPI payments and rewards
Scapia Credit Card RuPay UPI payments and rewards

RuPay UPI

The Scapia Credit Card can be used for eligible UPI transactions when you have the RuPay variant. The card is linked to a supported UPI application and the resulting payment uses your available credit limit.

The Visa or Mastercard version should not be assumed to provide the same RuPay-credit-card UPI functionality.

UPI reward conditions

Eligible RuPay transactions can earn 5% Scapia rewards, with a ₹500 minimum transaction value under the current reward structure.

For example, an eligible ₹2,000 transaction at the 5% headline rate produces 100 Scapia Coins. At 5 Coins = ₹1, that represents ₹20 of redemption value.

Not every UPI transaction necessarily qualifies for rewards because merchant category and transaction-type exclusions can apply.

What to keep ready

Keep your PAN, Aadhaar-linked mobile details and income or address information available. The exact documentation can depend on the issuer and application route.

Already applied? See our Scapia Credit Card application status guide to track the application.

Activation after approval

After receiving the card, complete the required activation and PIN setup before using the card. You may also need to enable particular domestic, online, contactless or international transaction types depending on the card controls.

See our Scapia Credit Card activation guide for the step-by-step process.

Scapia Credit Card Limit

Is there a fixed Scapia credit limit?

No single credit limit applies to every Scapia cardholder. The issuing bank assigns the limit to the individual account after its credit assessment.

Two applicants with similar card preferences can therefore receive different limits.

What can affect the assigned limit?

The issuer can consider factors such as income, credit history, existing obligations, previous card usage and its internal underwriting criteria.

The available limit can also change after responsible usage, repayments or an issuer-initiated credit-limit review. There is no universal Scapia formula that guarantees a particular limit or increase amount.

For more information, see our Scapia Credit Card limit increase guide.

0% forex markup on eligible international spendingReward exclusions apply
Higher rewards on eligible Scapia travel bookingsLounge access depends on the spending condition
RuPay option for eligible UPI transactionsIssuer-specific eligibility and charges can differ

Who May Find the Card Useful?

The Scapia Credit Card can make sense for users who regularly travel and can actually use the Scapia ecosystem. It is particularly relevant to people who value zero forex markup, app-based travel bookings, airport benefits and rewards that can be used toward future travel.

It can also be relevant to users who make enough regular spending to meet the ₹20,000 airport-benefit threshold without changing their normal spending habits.

The card can be less compelling for someone whose main priority is unrestricted cash-back or reward points that can be transferred to airline or hotel loyalty programs.

Who May Not Need It?

You may find the card less relevant if you rarely travel, rarely use international transactions, do not use UPI through a RuPay credit card, or prefer rewards that can be converted directly into statement credit or cash.

It is also worth reconsidering the card’s airport benefits if your normal monthly spending is well below ₹20,000, because lounge access is tied to the spending condition.

Common Mistakes to Avoid Before Using the Scapia Card

  1. Treating 10% or 20% as cash-back. The rewards are Scapia Coins. Their current published redemption value is 5 Coins = ₹1.
  2. Assuming lounge access is automatic. The ₹20,000 monthly spending condition matters.
  3. Assuming zero forex means free ATM withdrawals. Cash advances have separate fees and interest.
  4. Assuming every UPI payment earns rewards. UPI eligibility and reward eligibility are separate.
  5. Using one eligibility rule for every Scapia card. Federal Bank, BOBCARD and Axis publish different criteria.
  6. Ignoring reward exclusions. Category-specific exclusions can materially change your effective return.
  7. Judging the card only by the ₹0 annual fee. Other transaction and finance charges still matter.
